"In connection with the Memorial Day of Deportees, we are preparing an event together with mi/y: párhuzamos buborékok//paralelné bubliny, one that builds on the historical legacy and politics of memory of collective guilt – and yet we wish to approach it from a different angle.
Shared Silence is a lecture and interactive conversation about unspoken historical experiences, about silencing and being silenced, and about the effects of collective memory.
How does the past live on – in the body, in family histories, in the gestures of silence? What does this mean for research, self-reflection, and the future?
An evening where silence, too, is given a voice – together, in thought, in questions. Join us!
Location: Hungarian College for Advanced Studies in Bratislava, Kapucínska 5.
Date: 13th April 2026
The event is free of charge but requires registration: https://forms.gle/bmDVbkbYvM2bAoi59
The event will be held in English."
