Noszek Barbara

7/7 Text

Barbara Noszek – What are you working on this week?

This week my focus is split between several books in different stages of production. At the top of the list there is The Script by Etela Farkašová, which I’m currently editing. Erika Vályi Horváth’s translation beautifully captures the author’s calm, reflective tone.

Once that’s wrapped up, I’ll finalize the cover and blurb for Diana Maros’s upcoming book – a project close to my heart – and move on to editing A Reason for Joy by Soňa Uriková, translated by Tímea Pénzes. Of the four titles we’re preparing for September, this is the shortest and has a casual, spoken-language vibes – a small mercy as deadlines loom.

Our six current interns are now working on Melinda M. Kovács’s upcoming short story collection, Details Don’t Matter to God. I’ve divided the manuscript into sections so they can practice editing and proofreading. We’ll go over the entire book together later this week or next.

After work you’ll usually find me elbows-deep in the garden – or buried under a pile of yarn, crocheting tiny amigurumi animals as wedding favors. Yep, I’m getting married in August!
