Members of the Bázis literary and artistic association protest against the fact that, in 2025, the parliament of the Slovak Republic, a Member State of the European Union, at the initiative and with the support of the governing parties, adopted a law that punishes and threatens with imprisonment those who voice criticism of the Beneš Decrees from 1945, which enforce the principle of collective guilt.
The members of the Bázis Association condemn laws that run counter to the principles of democracy and intimidate national minorities in Slovakia, and they call on parliament to immediately review and repeal the amendment to the law.
